Work and Training - Gym

‘You’re hired!’ That’s what you’re likely to hear nowadays with an apprenticeship.

They are a great way of getting a nationally recognised qualification whilst getting paid and doing on-the-job training in the workplace.

You work alongside experienced staff to gain job-specific skills as an employee and then, usually on a day-release basis, attend college to study for your chosen qualification.

The National Minimum Wage rate for Apprentices (Oct 2012-Sept 2013) is £2.65.  This applies to Apprentices who are either under 19 or in the first year of their apprenticeship.

Apprenticeships are open to everyone aged over 16, but competition for places is strong, so you need to show commitment and prove that you can work as part of a team whilst also using your own initiative.
